Lee-Ann Dueck

I've gone from being a scared, insecure photographer, to following the rules and being very uptight about every little detail, to loving what I love with no excuses!

I have submitted four images. The first one, at the beach, reflects my current style best. A little daring with composition and fluidity, pushing my learning by working with new and challenging lighting situations. But most importantly, trusting that I can see something in my subjects, maybe hidden, and I am able to draw that out and show them their true Spirit.

The silhouette is of my children. They have been very patient with me while I constantly study, and practice. This image will remain one of my favorites of them. United and strong, at the water's edge.

It has been a constant struggle to find the time to learn, but also to break out of the constraints that I've placed upon myself as to what's acceptable, what's beautiful, what growth actually is made of.

I am please with my journey so far.

Thank you for this opportunity!
